Privacy Policy

Draft for review. This text describes how the app is built today; have it checked by a lawyer and fill in the legal name and contact details before the App Store submission.

The short version

Taskeen is built to keep your recitation private. There are no accounts, no advertising and no tracking. What you read and memorize stays on your device.

Who we are

Taskeen is published by Zetage ("we", "us"). You can reach us at support@zetage.com.

What stays on your device

  • Your reading position, memorization progress, review schedule, streaks and certificates.
  • Your settings (theme, text size, reciter, translation language).
  • The name you choose to show on certificates, if you enter one.
  • Downloaded translations and recitation audio.

We do not receive any of this. If you delete the app, it is deleted with it. This version has no cloud backup of your progress.

What the app connects to

  • Translations. When you choose to download a translation language, the app fetches it from api.alquran.cloud. That service can see your IP address and the request, as any website would.
  • Recitation audio. When you play or save a recitation, the app fetches audio files from a server that hosts them (currently everyayah.com; later our own storage on Cloudflare). That server can see your IP address and which files you request.

Once downloaded, translations and audio work without a connection. We do not send these providers any information about you beyond what your device sends in an ordinary request.

Analytics

Taskeen does not currently collect analytics. If we add anonymous usage statistics later, they will be controlled by a switch inside the app, and we will update this policy first.

Permissions

The app does not use your microphone, camera, contacts, photos or location. When you share a certificate or verse, the app uses your device's standard share sheet and only shares what you choose.

This website

This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising trackers. Its fonts are hosted on the site itself. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes standard server logs (such as IP address and page requested) to deliver and secure the site. If you use the early-access form, it opens your email app; the message you send reaches us like any other email, and we use it only to tell you about Taskeen.

Children

Taskeen does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Because we hold no personal data from the app, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete. For emails you have sent us, you can ask us to delete them at any time.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date above and, for meaningful changes, say so in the app.
